Gary and I ran around alot. I used to get a kick out of him because every time ELO came on the radio, at one of our homes or in our cars, he'd jump up or stop the car and start playing his " phantom " guitar like a wild rock star and sing along to the song! What a hoot. You'll never be forgotten friend. Billy

I will always remember Gary trusting me to cut his hair our Sr. Year in my garage while I was going to beauty school. Mr. Duke wasn't going to let him come back to school without a haircut and he knew if he went to a barber they would most likly "shave the hippie" before he could stop them.
Gary had a great smile (remember him popping his front tooth out at us?) and always had a twinkle in his eye to keep you wondering what he was up too.

Gary was such a clown and a joy to be around. I remember sitting next to him in Mr. Yeager's history class and I was trying to be serious... and Gary would catch me concentrating and pop his teeth out at me. He never failed to make me laugh. The last time I saw him, I was sitting in my car at Haskell Elementary, waiting on my fiancee to drive by on his way to work (we met every morning to kiss "hello"). Gary saw me and stopped and we visited for a few minutes before Johnny showed up. I was nervous that Johnny would get jealous if he drove up and saw me talking to another guy, so I hurried Gary off... not knowing it would be the last time I saw him. So sad - I wish I could have said more to let him know how much I appreciated him being my friend.

Gary and I had drafting together for three years and had a great time. He was pretty much the opposite of me and somehow we fit, me being the straight man most of the time. I remember seeing him at the drive in, he'd always want to park next to me but the speaker didn't work on the other side. I never did tell him I'd cut the wires for that speaker so no one else would park there, for a little more privacy with my girlfriend! The funniest memory was a bunch of us staying the night at his house one time while his parents were away and Gary announcing he was going to light a fart! Well he managed to do it........., and burned his butt! Him dancing around with the pain and everyone else laughing brings a smile to me still. I had no idea Gary had died, I haven't seen him since we graduated. It is a shock and I will miss him very much. Richard
