I didn't really become friends with Paula until right after graduation. For a while there she and I and several other people were hanging out. Neither she or I were dating anyone, and we'd get some friendly teasing-type suggestions that we should date each other. But I couldn't make up my mind if that was going to work out. After her passing, I was told she and her husband? boyfriend? were killed in a car accident in Europe. I never heard the whole story and didn't want to upset her family by asking. She was such a sweet girl; I'll always remember her shy smile. I'm glad I knew Paula Bean.
